Waterjet Cutting and Construction

Construction and Waterjet Cutting

In the construction industry, waterjet cutting is very useful. Materials that have a low melting point can be cut using a waterjet machine and achieve accurate and precise slices. Other applications of water jetting can include paint removal, rivet removal and concrete deck removal.  By focusing water at a high water flow and high power, damaged cement around constructs like bridges and decks may be removed. The blast pressure is so great it creates cracks in the cement and breaks it apart. The same idea applies to paint and rivet removal as well. High pressure water removes contaminated paint (lead based) and allows rust from rivets to be blasted away. The same process can be used to clean out pipes filled with debris, due to tree roots, dirt, or other particles. Waterjet cutting allows the blockage to be removed; the flow continues through the pipe.
